
Mr. Harry Partap
Mr. Harry Partap first entered the House of Representatives in 1995, when he was elected to represent the people of Nariva. Mr. Partap would win this constituency in 2000, 2001 and 2002. As a member of the United National Congress Government, Mr. Partap would serve as Minister of Labour from 1995 to 2001. He would later serve as a member of the Opposition.
In 2007, Mr. Partap contested and won the new constituency of Cumuto/Manzanilla. He would not contest the seat in 2010, which was eventually won by his son, Collin Partap. Mr. Partap was appointed High Commissioner to South Africa and 11 other states in November 2010.
Mr. Partap is a former journalist and school teacher. He is married and a father of three.
