Mr. Gerald Yetming first entered Parliament in January of 2001, when he was appointed a Senator and Minister of Finance in the 6th Republican Parliament. Mr. Yetming then contested and won the constituency of St. Augustine in the 7th Republican Parliament, which failed to elect a Speaker and was dissolved. Mr. Yetming was then successful in contesting the St. Joseph constituency, which he held during the 8th Republican Parliament.

Prior to entering politics, Mr. Yetming was a banker.
