Ms. Cynthia Alfred served as an Opposition Senator during the 5th Republican Parliament.

Ms. Alfred would later serve two terms as a Member of the Tobago House of Assembly, becoming the first woman to serve as Deputy Chief Secretary.

Ms. Alfred passed away in October 2024.
