Measures to address the disruption of water supply in Trinidad and Tobago
House of Representatives - 2nd Session - 13th Republican Parliament
WHEREAS access to a reliable supply of potable water is essential to public health, sanitation, economic activity and the general welfare of the people of Trinidad and Tobago;
AND WHEREAS communities throughout the country have experienced prolonged and repeated disruption in their water supply, affecting households, schools, businesses and healthcare facilities;
AND WHEREAS concerns have arisen regarding the adequacy of water distribution, infrastructure maintenance, contingency arrangements, and communication with affected communities;
AND WHEREAS prolonged water disruptions place significant hardship on citizens, particularly vulnerable persons, including the elderly and persons with disabilities;
BE IT RESOLVED that this House call upon the Government to outline the measures being implemented to address the disruption of water supply in Trinidad and Tobago.
