Leave of Absence, Appointment of Senators

The President of the Senate granted Leave of Absence to Sen. the Hon. Dr. Emily Gaynor Dick-Forde. Mr. Foster Cummings was temporarily appointed to replace Sen. Dick-Forde during her absence from Trinidad and Tobago. The seats of Sen. Dr. Adesh Nanan, Sen. Dr. Jennifer Kernahan, Sen. Mohammed Faisal Rahman and Sen. Dr. Sharon Ann Gopaul-McNicol were declared vacant. Dr. Surujrattan Rambachan, Ms. Lyndira Oudit, Mr. Mervyn Assam and Ms. Verna St. Rose Graves were appointed Opposition Senators.

The Attorney General continued his wind up on the Evidence (Amendment) Bill, 2010. The Bill was then considered in Committee and passed with amendments. The Bill was then read a third time and passed by a margin of 24 for, 6 against.
