The President of the Senate granted leave of absence to Senator James Lambert. Mr. Wayne Munro was appointed to temporarily replace Senator Lambert during his absence from Trinidad and Tobago.
11 Questions qualified for oral answer. Four questions for oral answer were dealt with as well as three questions for written response. See the Order Paper.
Sen. Fitzgerald Hinds moved a matter of privilege related to statements made by the Minister of National Security in response to a question on November 20, 2012. The President indicated that he would rule at a subsequent sitting.
The President of the Senate moved that the Bill be read a second time. The Bill was then referred to s Special Select Committee of the Senate for consideration and Report.
The Minister of the Environment and Water Resources moved the second reading of the Beverage Containers Bill, 2012. Sen. Faris Al-Rawi was the first to enter the debate, followed by Sen. Dr. Rolph Balgobin. Debate on the Bill was then suspended.
