The Speaker announced the appointment of Members to the Sessional Select Committees of the House of Representatives.

Three Questions qualified for oral answer. All three questions were deferred for two weeks.

The Leader of the House moved a Matter of Privilege pertaining to statements made by the Member for Siparia, and asked that the matter be referred to the Committee of Privileges. The Speaker indicated that he would consider the motion and rule later.

The Minister of Finance moved a Motion to consider Senate amendments to the Insurance (Amendment) Bill, 2009.

The Member for Princes Town North raised as a Matter on the Motion for the Adjournment of the House, “The State of Administration of the Criminal Justice System as a result of the Legal Fees being paid to Attorneys who are appointed as Defence Attorneys by the Legal Aid Authority and the low salaries being paid to the State Attorneys who are attached to the Department of the Director of Public Prosecutions.” The Minister of Legal Affairs responded.

The Leader of the House indicated that at its next sitting, the House will consider the Data Protection Bill, the Electronic Transactions Bill and the Status of Children (Amendment) Bill.
