The President informed the Senate of the presence in the Chamber of the Speaker Designate of Montserrat, Ms. Teresina Bodkin.
The President announced the revocation of the appointment of Senator Lyndira Oudit and the appointment of Mr. Christopher Joefield as an Opposition Senator. The President granted leave of absence to Sen. the Hon. John Jeremie and Sen. Michael Annisette. Mr. Joel Primus and Ms. Althea Rocke were appointed to temporarily replace Senators Jeremie and Annisette respectively.
The Bill, which was passed in the House of Representatives on February 19, 2010, was read a first time. The Bill is in the name of the Minister of Trade and Industry and Minister in the Ministry of Finance.

Sen. Dr. Adesh Nanan moved a Private Motion which asks the Government to take immediate steps to protect the coastline from sea level rise and salt water intrusion of all agricultural lands. Sen. Corinne Baptiste McKnight was first to enter the debate, followed by the Minister of Planning, Housing and the Environment. Debate on the Motion was suspended.
Sen. Dr. Adesh Nanan raised as a matter on the adjournment of the Senate, the failure of the Government to re-establish the Environmental Police. The Minister of Planning, Housing and the Environment responded.
At the next sitting the Attorney General is expected to conclude the Evidence (Amendment) Bill, 2010 and debate is expected to begin on the Civil Aviation (Amendment) Bill, 2010.
