Government Business: Bills Second Reading
The Emergency Ambulance Services and Emergency Medical Personnel Bill, 2008

The Minister of Health moved the Second Reading of the Emergency Ambulance Services and Emergency Medical Personnel Bill, 2008. Sen. Dr. Adesh Nanan was first to enter the debate, followed by Sen. Corinne Baptiste-McKnight. Four Members made contributions before debate was suspended.

Matter On The Adjournment
Freedom of Association

There were two matters raised by Sen. Mark on the Motion for the Adjournment of the Senate. The first was “The failure of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago to take action to give effect to certain ILO measures to enhance the fundamental freedom of association and the right of workers to organize in Trinidad and Tobago. The Minister of Labour and Small and Micro Enterprise Development responded.

The second matter raised by Sen. Mark was “The need to upgrade the labour market through new legislation aimed at promoting greater productivity and competitiveness”. The Minister of Labour and Small and Micro Enterprise Development.
