The Speaker granted leave of absence to the Member for Caroni Central (19 Feb-12 Mar).
Ten Papers were laid, nine by the Minister of Finance and one by the Leader of the House on behalf of the Minister of Local Government. See the Order Paper for details.
Debate resumed (from February 10, 2010) on the Trinidad and Tobago Revenue Authority Bill, 2010. The Minister of Public Administration was first to contribute, followed by the Member for Princes Town North and the Minister of Community Development, Culture and Gender Affairs. Nine members made contributions (16 over the course of two days of debate) before the Minister of Finance rose to conclude. The Bill was then considered in Committee and passed with amendments. The Bill was then read a third time and passed with the requisite majority.
At its next sitting debate is expected to commence on the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill, 2010. The sitting adjourned at 11:27 p.m.
