Debate resumed on a Motion asking the House to extend the Proclamation made by the President for a state of emergency by a further three months. The Member for Oropouche East was the first to enter the debate in today’s sitting, followed by the Member for St. Ann’s East and the Minister of Sport. Six Members made contributions on this day before the Prime Minister rose to conclude the debate. The Motion was approved by a margin of 29 for, 10 against, no abstention.

The House adjourned to Wednesday September 7, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. The Leader of the House indicated that debate will commence on three related Motions on the Order Paper. The sitting adjourned at 2:50 p.m.
