Leave of Absence

The Vice-President granted leave of Absence to Sen. the Hon. Danny Montano, Sen. the Hon. Dr. Lenny Saith and Sen. Dr. Sharon Ann Gopaul McNicol. Mr. Foster Cummings, Mr. Joel Primus and Mr. Raphael Cumberbatch were appointed to temporarily replace Senators Montano, Saith and Gopaul-McNicol respectively during their absence from Trinidad and Tobago.

One Bill, the Anti-Terrorism (Amendment) Bill, 2010, was introduced in the name of the Minister of National Security.

The Integrity in Public Life (Amendment) Bill, 2009

The Attorney General rose to conclude debate (from December 15, 2009) on the Integrity in Public Life (Amendment) Bill, 2009. The Bill was then considered in Committee and passed with amendments.

Government Business: Motions
Affirm the Prison (Amendment) Rules, 2009

The Minister of National Security moved a Motion to affirm the Prison (Amendment) Rules, 2009. Sen. Wade Mark was first to debate the Motion, followed by Sen. Dana Seetahal, SC and Sen. Lyndira Oudit. Ten Senators made contributions before the Minister rose to wind up. The Motion was approved as amended.
