The President granted leave of absence to Sen. Prof. Harold Ramkission. Dr. Lennox Bernard was appointed to temporarily replace Prof. Ramkissoon during his absence.

The Minister of National Security moved the second reading of the Anti-Terrorism (Amendment) Bill, 2011, which was passed (with amendments) in the House of Representatives on June 3, 2011. Sen. Faris Al-Rawi was first to enter the debate, followed by Sen. Elton Prescott SC, Sen. David Abdulah, Sen. Pennelope Beckles-Robinson, and Sen. Subhas Ramkhelawan. 16 Senators made interventions before the Minister of National Security rose to conclude. The Bill was considered in Committee and passed without amendments. It was then read a third time and passed.
Before adjourning, the leaders of the respective benches made brief contributions on this first Session of the 10th Parliament. Greetings were also extended on the occasion of Labour Day. The sitting adjourned at 1:30 a.m.
