The President of the Senate granted Leave of Absence to Sen. the Hon. Arnold Piggott. Ms. Anwarie Ramkissoon was appointed to temporarily replace Sen. Piggott during his absence from Trinidad and Tobago.

Debate continued (from November 10, 2009) on the Tobacco Control Bill, 2009, with Sen. Dr. Jennifer Kernahan being the first to contribute. Five members made contributions on this day (17 members overall) before the Minister of Health rose to wind up the debate. The Bill was considered in Committee and passed with amendments. The result of the division on third reading was 22 for, none against, 7 abstentions.
