The President granted leave of absence to Sen. the Hon. Dr. Emily Gaynor Dick-Forde and Sen. Wade Mark, who were out of the country. Mr. Noel Gayle and Mr. Ryan Spicer were appointed to replace Sen. Dick-Forde and Sen. Mark during their absence.

The Minister in the Ministry of Finance moved a Motion asking the Senate to confirm the Excise Duty (Compressed Natural Gas) Order, 2008. This Motion was confirmed in the House of Representatives on Friday November 7, 2008. Eight Senators entered the debate before the Minister began his conclusion. The Motion was later approved.
At its next sitting the Senate will consider the Tobacco Control Bill, 2008, which is in the name of the Minister of Health. The Senate adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
