48 Questions qualify for oral answer. The Leader of the House indicated that the Government was in a position to answer ten questions (75, 134, 180, 187, 193, 194, 200, 201, 212 and 221). Housing Development Corporation

The Member for Diego Martin West made a personal explanation relating to his knowledge of matters pertaining to the Housing Development Corporation while he was Minister of Housing.

Government Business: Motions
Confirm the Provisional Collection of Taxes Order, 2008

The Minister in the Ministry of Finance moved a Motion in the name of the Minister of Finance which asks the House to confirm the Provisional Collection of Taxes Order, 2008. Nine members entered the debate before the Minister began his wind up. The Motion was later approved.

Adjournment
The House adjourned to Friday October 24, 2008 at 1:30 p.m.

At its next sitting, the House will debate the Children Bill, 2008, which is in the name of the Minister of Social Development. The Speaker also apologized to members for the non functioning of the air conditioning system and endeavoured to have the situation rectified before the next sitting. The House adjourned at 8:33 p.m.
