The Vice-President of the Senate granted leave of absence to Sen. Prof. Harold Ramkissoon. Dr. Lennox Bernard was appointed to temporarily replace Sen. Ramkissoon during his absence from Trinidad and Tobago.

Debate resumed (from May 17, 2011) on the Trafficking in Persons Bill, 2011. Sen. Dr. Victor Wheeler was the first to contribute on this day, followed by the Minister of Planning, Economic and Social Restructuring and Gender Affairs, Sen. Pennelope Beckles, Sen. Elton Prescott, SC and the Leader of Government Business. Debate on the Bill was suspended until May 24, 2011.
Sen. Basharat Ali then resumed his contribution (from May 17, 2011) on the Data Protection Bill, 2011. He was followed by the Minister of Public Administration, Sen. Faris Al-Rawi, Sen. Helen Drayton and Sen. Shamfa Cudjoe. A total of thirteen Senators made contributions over the course of three days before the Minister began his wind-up.
