Two Papers were laid in the name of the Minister of Local Government, by the Minister of Science, Technology and Tertiary Education.
Three Questions qualify for oral answer. The Speaker of the House announced that questions would be deferred for the duration of the budget debate.

The Member for Tabaquite raised a matter of privilege relating to the assaulting, insulting, molesting and abusing of members of Parliament while they were coming to the House to participate in a debate of no confidence in the Prime Minister on September 12, 2008. The Speaker ruled that in his view a prima facie case had indeed been made out by the Member for Tabaquite and referred the matter to the Committee of Privileges for further investigation and report.
Debate continued (from September 26, 2008) on the Appropriation Bill, 2009 with the Member for Diego Martin West being the first to contribute, followed by the Member for Couva South. In all some 12 members made contributions before debate was suspended.
At the next sitting debate will resume on the Appropriation Bill, 2009. The House adjourned at 12:30 a.m.
