The Minister of Foreign Affairs made a statement on the upcoming visit to the Organization of American States Summit by a delegation led by the Prime Minister.
The Trafficking of Persons Bill, 2011 was introduced in the name of the Minister of National Security.
The Leader of the House sought leave to have Mrs. Paula Gopee-Scoon replace Dr. Keith Rowley on the Public Accounts (Enterprises) Committee. Leave was granted.
The Attorney General moved a Motion to adopt the Report of the Joint Select Committee of Parliament appointed to consider and report on the Anti Gang Bill, 2010 and the Bail (Amendment) Bill, 2010. the Member for Diego Martin North/East was the only member to enter the debate. The Attorney General then rose to conclude. The Bail Bill was then considered in Committee and passed with amendments. It was then read a third time and passed unanimously 36 for, none against, no abstentions. the Anti Gang Bill, 2010 was also passed by the same majority.
The Leader of the House moved a Motion to approve the notification of the President of the nomination by the Police Service Commission of Mr. Mervyn Cecil Richardson to the office of Deputy Commissioner of Police. The Member for Laventille East/Morvant was first to enter the debate, followed by the Member for Diego Martin North/East and the Minister of Works and Transport. The Leader of the House then rose to conclude. The Motion was approved.
The Association of Real Estate Agents (Incorporation) Bill, 2011 was read a second time.
