The President granted leave to Senator Wade Mark. Mr. Raphael Cumberbatch was appointed to temporarily replace Senator Wade Mark during the period of his absence from Trinidad and Tobago.

The Minister of Health presented the Interim Report of the Joint Select Committee on the Local Government Bill, 2009.

The Minister of Health moved the Second Reading of the Tobacco Control Bill, 2009. Six Senators made interventions before debate on the Bill was suspended.
