Government Business: Bills Second Reading
The Anti-Gang Bill, 2011

The Minister in the Ministry of National Security resumed his contribution (from April 19, 2011) on the Anti-Gang Bill, 2010 and the Bail (Amendment) Bill, 2010. The Attorney General rose to conclude. The Bill was then considered in Committee and passed with amendments. It was then read a third time and passed. The result of the division at third reading was 28 for, none against, no abstentions.

The Bail (Amendment) Bill, 2010, which was debated along with the Anti-Gang Bill, 2010, was then considered in Committee and passed with amendment. It was then read a third time and passed. The result of the division at third reading was 28 for, none against, no abstentions.

Government Business: Bills Second Reading
The Trafficking in Persons Bill, 2011

The Minister of National Security moved the second reading of the Trafficking in Persons Bill, 2011. Sen. Faris Al-Rawi was first to enter the debate, followed by Sen. Basharat Ali and the Minister of Public Utilities. Five Senators made contributions before debate on the bill was suspended.

Matter On The Adjournment
Condition of the Magistrate's Court

Senator Fitzgerald Hinds raised a matter on the motion for the adjournment of the Senate, “the failure of the Government to provide proper working conditions for the Magistrates and the staff at the Tunapuna Magistrates Courts, due to the defective Air Condition System and the absence of an Audio Digital Recording System.”. The Attorney General responded.
