The President granted leave of absence to Sen. Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim and Sen. Anthony Vieira. Mr. Augustus Thomas and Mr. Josh Drayton were appointed to temporarily replace Senators Ibrahim and Vieira during their absence.

The Leader of Government Business moved that a Special Select Committee be reestablished in the 3rd Session to deal with a code of ethical behaviour. A division was taken, the result of which was 22 for, six against, one abstention.
The Leader of the House also moved that Fisheries Management (No.2) Bill, 2020, the Shipping Bill, 2020, the Private Security Industry Bill, 2022 and the Supplemental Police (Amendment) Bill, 2022 be restored in the Third Session of the Eighth Parliament.
Debate resumed on the Bail (Amendment)(Extension of Duration) Bill, 2022 with Senator Jayanti Lutchmedial being first to contribute, followed by the Minister of National Security. The Attorney General then rose to wind up the debate. Following second reading, the Bill was committed to a Committee of the whole Senate to be considered clause by clause. At third reading a division was taken was 18 for, 11 against, one abstention. The Bill did not receive the required majority and was therefore defeated.
The Sri Sathya Sai Baba Organisation of Trinidad and Tobago (Incorporation) (Amendment) Bill, 2021 was read a second time, considered in Committee and approved without amendment. It was then read a third time and passed.
The Tobago Council for Handicapped Children (Amendment) Bill, 2021 was read a second time, considered in Committee and approved without amendment. It was then read a third time and passed.
Senator Wade Mark raised as a matter on the motion for the adjournment of the Senate, the need for Government to call for an investigation and report into the decision of First Citizen’s Bank to invest in a US45m loan to Cornerstone Financial Holdings Limited. The Minister in the Ministry of Finance responded.
