Debate resumed (from June 17, 2013) on the Dog Control Bill, 2013. The Minister of Local Government and Minister of Works and Infrastructure was first to enter the debate, followed by the Member for Port-of-Spain North/St. Ann’s West, the Minister of the People and Social Development, the Leader of the Opposition and the Member for Arouca/ Maloney. the Attorney General then rose to conclude the debate. Debate on the Bill was then suspended.
The Minister of Trade, Industry and Investment then moved the second reading of the CARIFORUM (Caribbean Community and Dominican Republic) European Community Economic Partnership Agreement Bill, 2013. The Member for Point Fortin entered the debate. The Minister of Trade, Industry and Investment then rose to conclude. The Bill was considered in Committee and passed with amendment. It was then read a third time and passed.
The Minister of Arts and Multiculturalism moved the second reading of the University of the Southern Caribbean (Incorporation) Bill, 2012. The Leader of the Opposition was the first to enter the debate. The Minister then rose to conclude. The Bill was considered in Committee and passed without amendment. It was then read a third time and passed.
The Leader of the House moved a Motion to appoint the following members to serve with an equal number from the Senate on the Joint Select Committee established to consider the Insurance Bill, 2013. Mr. Stephen Cadiz, Mrs. Carolyn Seepersad-Bachan, Mr. Jairam Seemungal, Dr. Delmon Baker, Mr. Colm Imbert and Ms. Marlene McDonald. The Motion was approved.
