The Minister of Justice moved a Motion asking the House to consider Senate amendments to the Administration of Justice (Electronic Monitoring) Bill, 2011. The Motion was approved.
The Minister of Gender, Youth and Child Development moved a Motion asking the House to consider Senate amendments to the Children Bill, 2012. The Motion was approved unanimously (36 for, none against, no abstentions).
The Deputy Speaker moved a Motion asking the House to consider Senate Amendments to the National Ramleela Council of Trinidad and Tobago (Incorporation) Bill, 2011. The Motion was approved.
The Minister of Trade and Industry moved a Motion asking the House to adopt the Second Report of the Joint Select Committee on Parliamentary Accommodation of the Second Session of the Tenth Parliament (2011/2012). The Motion was approved.
The Minister of Planning and the Economy moved a Motion asking the House to adopt the Report of the Joint Select Committee appointed to consider and report to Parliament on the Legislative Proposals to provide for Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Property and the Repeal and Replacement of the Central Tenders Board Act. The Member for Diego Martin North/East was first to enter the debate. The Minister then rose to conclude. The Motion was then approved.
The Member for Diego Martin North/East raised the matter of “the need for the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to be more proactive in dealing with the maintenance, upgrade and development of main roads and major watercourses in the Region of Diego Martin” The Minister of Works and Infrastructure responded.
The House adjourned to a date to be fixed. Before adjourning the Leader of the House, the Opposition Chief Whip and the Speaker made brief remarks on the success of the Second Session of the Tenth Parliament.
