The Speaker granted leave of absence to the Member for Naparima (June 4-12), Toco/Sangre Grande (June 4-10) and Mayaro (June 4-13).
The Minister of Finance laid three Papers, all of which were referred to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). See the Order Paper.
The Minister of Finance presented the Second Report (2011/2012) Session of the Finance Committee of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago on proposals for the Supplementation and Variation of the 2012 Appropriation.
The five questions which qualified for oral answer were deferred for two weeks. See the Order Paper for details.
The Finance (Supplementary Appropriation) (Financial Year 2012) Bill, 2012, was introduced. The Minister of Finance moved that the next stage of the Bill be taken later in the proceedings. Leave was granted.
The Minister of Finance moved a Motion asking the House to adopt the Second Report of the Finance Committee of the House of Representatives. The Leader of the Opposition was first to enter the debate, followed by the Leader of the House and Minister of Housing and the Environment, and the Member for Diego Martin North/East. A total of 14 Members made contributions before the Minister rose to conclude the debate. The Motion was then approved.
The Finance (Supplementary Appropriation) (Financial Year 2012) Bill, 2012 was taken through all its stages and passed.
The Deputy Speaker moved a Motion asking the House to adopt the Report of the Special Select Committee of the House of Representatives appointed to consider and report on a Private Bill entitled, “An Act for the incorporation of the National Ramleela Council of Trinidad and Tobago and for matters incidental thereto.” The Motion was approved and the Report adopted.
The Deputy Speaker also moved a Motion asking the House to adopt the Report of the Special Select Committee of the House of Representatives appointed to consider and report on a Private Bill entitled, “An Act for the Incorporation of an Association to be known as the Association of Real Estate Agents and for matters incidental thereto.” The Motion was approved and the report adopted.
