Leave of Absence

The Vice-President granted leave of absence to Sen. the Hon. Timothy Hamel-Smith, Sen. the Hon. Mary King and Sen. Subhas Ramkhelawan. Mr. Rabindra Moonan, Archbishop Barbara Gray-Burke and Mrs. Parvatee Anmolsingh-Mahabir were appointed to temporarily replace Senators Hamel-Smith, King and Ramkhelawan.

Government Business: Bills Second Reading
The Anti-Gang Bill, 2010

The Attorney General moved the Second Reading of the Anti-Gang BIll, 2010. In so doing, the Attorney General also sought and obtained leave to debate the Bail (Amendment) Bill, 2010 concurrently. Sen. Fitzgerald Hinds was first to enter the debate, followed by Sen. Basharat Ali, the Minister of National Security and Sen. Faris Al Rawi. Nine Senators made contributions before debate on the Bills was suspended.

The House adjourned to Tuesday April 19, 2011 at 1:30 p.m.
