The Minister of Labour and Small and Micro Enterprise Development moved the second reading of the Industrial Relations (Amendment) Bill. In so doing, the Minister sought leave of the House to also debate the Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2015, since the two Bills were interrelated. The House agreed. The Member for Chaguanas West was first to enter the debate, followed by the Member for Couva South, the Member for Cumuto/Manzanilla, the Minister of Legal Affairs and the Minister of Works and Infrastructure, during whose contribution debate on the Bill was suspended.
The House adjourned to Wednesday May 13, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. At the next sitting the House will continue debate on the Industrial Relations (Amendment) Bill, 2015 and the Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2015, and commence debate on the Cybercrime Bill, 2015 and the Trinidad and Tobago Cyber Security Agency Bill, 2015. Time permitting debate is also expected to conclude on the Precursor Chemicals (No.2) Bill, 2014, continue on a Motion to consider the 36th Annual Report of the Ombudsman and begin on a Motion to agree with Senate amendments to the Trade Marks Bill, 2014. The sitting ended at 6:12 p.m.
