The House paid tribute to former Member of Parliament for Fyzabad, Dr. Winston Williams, who passed away on May 29, 2025. He served during the 1st and 2nd Republican Parliaments. A minute of silence was observed.

The Prime Minister, Hon. Kamla Persad-Bissessar, MP, made a statement addressing issues arising out of the Report of the Auditor General on the Public Accounts of Trinidad and Tobago for the fiscal year 2024.
Two Bills, the Children’s Life Fund (Amendment) Bill, 2025 and the Trinidad and Tobago Revenue Authority (Repeal) Bill, 2025, were introduced in the House of Representatives in the name of the Minister of Health and the Minister of Finance respectively, both of whom moved that the next stage of the Bill be taken later in the proceedings. The motions were approved.
The Minister of Homeland Security, Hon. Roger Alexander, MP, moved a motion to approve the notification of the President of the Nomination by the Police Service Commission of Mr. Allister Guevarro to the office of Commissioner of Police. The Member for Arouca/Lopinot, Mr. Marvin Gonzales, MP, kicked off debate on the motion, followed by the Prime Minister, the Member for Port-of-Spain South and the Attorney General. The Minister of Homeland Security then rose to conclude the debate. The Motion was approved.
The Minister of Health, Hon. Dr. Lackram Bodoe, MP, moved the second reading of the Children’s Life Fund (Amendment) Bill, 2025. Debate began on the bill. Five members contributed to the debate before the wind up by the Minister of Health. The bill was then committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. Amendments were made. The bill was read a third time and passed.
The Minister of Finance, Hon. Davendranath Tancoo, MP, moved the second reading of The Trinidad and Tobago Revenue Authority (Repeal) Bill, 2025. Debate began on the bill. Six members contributed to the debate before the wind up by the Minister of Finance. The bill was then committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. No amendments were made. With 27 votes for, 11 votes against and no abstentions, the bill was read a third time and passed.
