Government Business: Bills Second Reading
The Bail (Amendment) Bill, 2024

The Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, Sen. the Hon. Reginald Armour, S.C., moved the second reading of the Bail (Amendment) Bill, 2024. The Leader of the Opposition, Hon. Kamla Persad-Bissessar, S.C., MP and the Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Keith Rowley, MP, added their voice to the debate before the wind up by the Attorney General. The bill was then committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. The bill was approved with amendments. With 38 votes for, no votes against and no abstentions, the bill was then read a third time and passed.
