Leave of absence was granted to Sen. Melanie Roberts-Ragdman, who is out of the country. Mr. Kyron James was appointed temporary senator in her place.

The President of the Senate informed of correspondence received from the Speaker of the House regarding appointments to Joint Select Committees.
Sen. Anthony Vieira lodged a petition on behalf of the Trinidad and Tobago Yachting Association, seeking to introduce a private bill, to change its name to The Trinidad and Tobago Sailing Association. Leave was granted to proceed.

Sixteen questions qualified for oral answer. See Order Paper. Questions #58 and #59 were deferred for two weeks. Question #49 was also deferred by request of the questioner.
The Probation of Offenders (Amendment) Bill, 2026 was introduced in the name of the Minister of Justice.
Debate resumed on the private motion calling upon the Government to table in Parliament, within the next twelve (12) months, a comprehensive national strategic plan, inclusive of a legislative framework, to eliminate these barriers to social and economic exclusion, thereby enabling all persons to participate fully in public life with dignity and independence. Seven Senators made contributions before Senator Lalite-Etienne rose to wind up the debate. The Motion was then approved.
Sen. Dr. Amery Browne raised as a matter on the motion for the adjournment, the need for the government to provide a supportive and enabling environment for local businesses, particularly small and medium enterprises. The Minister of Labour, Small and Micro Enterprise Development responded.
The Senate brough greetings to the Spiritual/Shouter Baptist community on the upcoming celebration of Spiritual Baptist Liberation Day.
