The Speaker granted leave of absence to the Member for St. Augustine. Later in the proceedings the Speaker recognized the presence in the Speaker’s Gallery of Mr. Nicholas Steele, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Business of Grenada.
The Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic (Amendment) Bill, 2013, which was passed in the Senate on Tuesday April 9, 2013, was read a first time in the House of Representatives.

Four Questions qualify for oral answer. Two questions (27 and 28) were answered and the other two deferred. See the Order Paper.
Three Bills, The Customs (Amendment) Bill, 2013, the National Health Services Accreditation Authority Bill, 2013 and the Sugar Industry Control Board (Repeal)(Validation) Bill, 2013 were introduced. See the Order Paper.
The Minister of Sport moved the second reading of the Anti-Doping in Sport Bill, 2013. The Member for Laventille East/Morvant was first to enter the debate, followed by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure and the Member for St. Ann’s East. The Minister of Sport then rose to conclude. The Bill was considered in Committee and passed with amendments. The Bill was then read a third time and passed. Since the Bill required a special majority, at third reading a division was taken, the result of which was 34 for, none against and no abstentions.
At the next sitting, debate is expected on the National Health Services Accreditation Authority Bill, 2013 and the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic (Amendment) Bill, 2013. The sitting ended at 6:15 p.m.
