The Minister of Water Resources and the Environment made a statement acknowledging World Environment Day.
The Minister of Energy and Energy Affairs made a statement on the status of the Petroleum Company of Trinidad and Tobago.
The Minister of Finance and the Economy moved the second reading of the Customs (Amendment) Bill, 2013. Sen. Faris Al-Rawi was first to enter the debate, followed by Sen. Helen Drayton, the Minister of Trade, Industry and Development and Sen. Pennelope Beckles. Nine members made contributions before the Minister of Finance rose to conclude. The Bill was then considered in Committee stage and passed without amendment. It was then read a third time and passed. At third reading a division was taken, the result of which was 23 for, none against, six abstentions. the Bill was therefore passed with the required special majority.
