The Speaker granted leave of absence to the Member for La Brea from today’s sitting.

The Member for Port-of-Spain South resumed her contribution (from March 13th) on the Defence (Amendment) Bill, 2013, followed by the Prime Minister and the Member for Point Fortin. The Attorney General then rose to conclude. The Bill was then considered in Committee and passed with amendments including a change to the Short Title and the Long Title. The Short Title now reads: The Miscellaneous Provisions (Defence and Police Complaints) Bill, 2013. The Bill was then read a third time and passed. A division was taken at third reading, the result of which was 29 voting for, 11 against, no abstentions.
