The Minister of Labour and Small Enterprise Development, Sen. the Hon. Jennifer Baptiste-Primus, made a statement on the National Workplace Policy on Sexual Harassment 2019.
The Attorney General, Hon. Faris Al-Rawi, MP, moved the second reading of the Companies (Amendment) Bill, 2018. Debate began on the Bill. Following the debate, the Bill was taken to the Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. No amendments were made. The Bill was read a third time and passed.
One Bill, the Urban and Regional Planning Profession Bill, 2019, was introduced in the name of the Minister of Planning and Development.
During debate on the Companies (Amendment) Bill, the Leader of the House moved that the Joint Select Committee appointed to consider and report on the Trinidad and Tobago Revenue Authority Bill be granted an additional five weeks to complete its deliberations. The House agreed.
The Attorney General, Hon. Faris Al-Rawi, MP, moved the motion calling on the House to consider the Senate amendments to the Trespass (Amendment) Bill, 2019. The motion was approved.
Hon. Faris Al-Rawi, MP, moved motions to approve the enforcement of the Economic Sanctions (Implementation of United Nations Resolutions on the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) Order, 2018 until revocation and approve the enforcement of the Economic Sanctions (Implementation of United Nations Resolutions on the Islamic Republic of Iran) Order, 2018 until revocation. Both motions were debated together and approved.
The House brought greetings on the celebration of International Women’s Day. The Sitting concluded at 7:56 p.m. The House adjourned to Friday March 22, 2019 at 1:30 p.m.
