The Vice-President granted leave of absence to Sen. the Hon. Joan Yuille-Williams and Sen. Ato Boldon who were out of the country. Sen. Joan Hackshaw-Marslin and Mr. Anil Juteram were sworn in to replace Sen. Yuille-Williams and Boldon respectively.
The Vice-President announced the revocation of the appointment of Sen. Harry Persad-Mungalsingh with effect from March 5, 2007.
Two Papers were laid. Both were in the name of the Minister in the Ministry of Finance (Sen. the Hon. Conrad Enill)
The Minister in the Ministry of Finance (Sen. the Hon. Christine Sahadeo) presented the Report of the Joint Select Committee on the Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) Bill, 2006.

The Minister in the Ministry of Finance and Acting Minister of Planning and Development (Sen. the Hon. Christine Sahadeo) made a statement pertaining to Caroni (1975) Limited.
The Attorney General (Sen. the Hon. John Jeremie, S.C.) then moved a Motion asking the Senate to agree to House of Representatives amendments to the Evidence (Amendment) Bill, 2006. The Senate approved the amendments.
Debate resumed (from February 13, 2006) on the Heritage and Stabilization Fund (No.2) Bill, 2006. Eight Senators made contributions on the Bill before the Minister concluded the debate. The Bill was considered in Committee and passed without amendments. It was then read a third time and passed.
Sen. Wade Mark raised the matter of the failure of the Attorney General to take the necessary steps to ensure that the Government of Barbados desist from oil exploration and associated activities in the maritime waters of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. The Attorney General (Sen. the Hon. John Jeremie, SC) responded.
At its next sitting the Senate proposes to debate three Bills which are to be circulated, namely, the Security Assistance (Caricom) Bill, 2007, the Visiting Police Forces Bill, 2007 and the Visiting
Forces Bill, 2007. The Sitting adjourned at 9:46 p.m.
