1st Session - 10th Republican Parliament
The Speaker granted Leave of Absence to the Member for Chaguanas East, Tabaquite and Diego Martin West. The Speaker wished a speedy recovery to the Leader of the Oppoition as well as former President of the Republic Sir Ellis Clarke. the Speaker instructed the Clerk to send an appropriate letter on behalf of the Parliament to the former President.

The Member for Diego Martin North/East sought leave to raise as a definite matter of urgent public importance, the confusion, uncertainty and potential for serious loss to Trinidad and Tobago of the decision of the board of Caribbean Airlines to purchase nine aircraft. The Speaker ruled that the matter did not qualify under this Standing Order.
The Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs made a Personal Explanation in response to allegations by the Member for Diego Martin Central of the use of obscene language at a recent concert part-sponsored by the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs.
Debate resumed on the Anti-Gang Bill, 2010, with the Minister of Labour, Small and Micro Enterprise Development being first to contribute, followed by the Member for Point Fortin, the Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, the Member for Diego Martin Central and the Minister of State in the Ministry of the People and Social Development (ten members over the course of two days). The Attorney General then rose to conclude the debate. The Bill was referred to a Joint Select Committee.
The Minister of National Security responded to the Matter raised by the Member for Diego Martin North/East on the Motion for the Adjournment of the House on Friday November 26, 2010, “the apparent dismantling and/or undermining by the Government of national security agencies, systems and strategies, such as the SAUTT, the SIA, intelligence gathering and the drug interdiction effort.â€
At the next sitting of the House, the Senate amendments to the Children’s Life Fund Bill will be considered, followed by debate on the Bail (Amendment) Bill, 2010. The sitting ended at 7:13 p.m.
