Leave of absence was granted to Hon. Shamfa Cudjoe, MP for Tobago West from sittings of the House for the period May 12-19, 2024, and to Mr. Davendranath Tancoo, MP for Oropouche West and Ms. Michelle Benjamin, MP for Moruga/Tableland, from today’s Sitting of the House.
The ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2024 Bill, 2024 was brought from the Senate in the name of the Attorney General, who moved that the next stage of the bill be taken later in the proceedings. The motion was carried.

The Administration of Justice (Indictable Proceedings) (Amendment) Bill, 2024 was introduced in the House in the name of the Attorney General, who moved that the next stage of the bill be taken later in the proceedings. The motion was carried.
The Attorney General, Sen. the Hon. Reginald Armour, S.C., moved the second reading of The ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2024 Bill, 2024. Debate began on the bill. Six members contributed to the debate before the wind up by the Attorney General. The bill was then committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. No amendments were made. The bill was read a third time and passed.

The Member for Chaguanas East, Ms. Vandana Mohit, MP, raised a matter on the adjournment namely the need for the Government to adopt an all embracing approach through strategies to mitigate against persons contemplating suicide. The Minister of Health, Hon. Terrence Deyalsingh, MP, responded.
