3rd Session - 10th Republican Parliament
The Clerk of the House read a Proclamation by His Excellency the President declaring the 3rd Session of the 10th Parliament of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago open.
Ms. Nela Khan, the Member of Parliament for Princes Town, was elected Deputy Speaker.
The Speaker informed the House that His Excellency wished to address the Members of both Houses assembled together. The sitting was then suspended.
His Excellency Professor George Maxwell Richards President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago addressed the Members of both Houses of Parliament assembled together.
The Prime Minister made a statement in the House.
The House adjourned to a date to be fixed. Before adjourning, the Prime Minister, the Leader of the Opposition and the Speaker of the House extended greetings on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Independence in Trinidad and Tobago.
