The President granted leave of absence to Sen. the Hon. Christlyn Moore, Sen. the Hon. Kevin Ramnarine and Sen. the Hon. Vasant Bharath. Mr. Don Sylvester, Mr. Wayne Sturge and Archbishop Barbara Gray-Burke were appointed to temporarily replace Senators Moore, Ramnarine and Bharath during their absence.
The Bill, which was passed unanimously in the House of Representatives on April 12, 2013, was read a first time in the Senate in the name of the Minister of Sport.

Seven Questions qualify for oral answer. One question was answered and the rest deferred. See the Order Paper.
Debate resumed on the Miscellaneous Provisions (Defence and Police Complaints) Bill, 2013. The Minister of Tertiary Education and Skills Training resumed his contribution, followed by Sen. Helen Drayton, the maiden contribution of Sen. Wayne Sturge, Sen. Shamfa Cudjoe and Sen. Dr. Rolph Balgobin. Debate on the Bill was then suspended.
