The Prime Minister made a personal statement in response to the contribution of the Member for San Fernando East during debate on the Interception of Communications Bill on November 19, 2010.
The Minister of Works and Transport raised as a matter of privilege statements made by the Member for San Fernando East during his contribution on the Interception of Communications Bill, 2010. The Speaker indicated that he would consider the matter and rule at a later time.
The Minister of Finance moved the second reading of the Finance (No.2) Bill, 2010. The Leader of the Opposition was first to respond, followed by the Minister of Trade and Industry and the Member for Diego Martin North/East. 15 members made contributions before the Minister of Finance rose to conclude.
The Land Tenants (Security of Tenure) (Amendment) Bill, 2010 was introduced in the name of the Minister of Housing and the Environment. The Minister moved that the next stage of the Bill be taken at the next sitting of the House on Friday November 26, 2010. Leave was granted.
At the next sitting of the House, debate is expected to continue on the Interception of Communications Bill, 2010. Debate is also expected to begin on the Land Tenants (Security of Tenure) (Amendment) Bill, 2010. The sitting adjourned at 1:03 a.m.
