Private Business took precedence at this Sitting. Opposition Senator Jayanti Lutchmedial-Ramdial moved a motion regarding Government’s commitment to democracy in Trinidad and Tobago. Five senators contributed to the debate before the adjournment of the Senate.
Sen. Wade Mark raised a matter on the adjournment namely the need for the Government to explain its decision to generate a new one hundred dollar note and the costs to the public. The Minister of Finance, Hon. Colm Imbert, MP, responded.
Sen. Mark raised a second matter regarding the need for the Government to provide the costs of using the MV White Marlin to conduct the dry docking works of three (3) fast ferry vessels and the payment made to a local agent on behalf of the vessel’s owners. The Minister of Works and Transport, Sen. the Hon. Rohan Sinanan, responded.
