The First Report (2011/2012) Session of the Finance Committee of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago on proposals for the Supplementation and Variation of the 2012 Appropriation was presented by the Minister of Finance.

The Minister of Gender, Youth and Child Development rose to present a statement appealing for the strengthening of current child protection laws in Trinidad and Tobago in order to more effectively protect the nation’s children.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Communications made a statement briefly detailing the Prime Minister’s agenda during her attendance with her delegation to India.
The Children Bill, 2011 was introduced in the name of the Minister of Gender, Youth and Child Development.
The Finance (Supplementation and Variation of Appropriation) (Financial Year 2011) Bill, 2012 was introduced by the Minister of Finance who moved that the next stage of this Bill be taken later in the proceedings. Leave was granted.
The Minister of Finance moved a Motion asking the House to approve the First Report (2011-2012 Session) of the Finance Committee of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago on proposals for the Supplementation and Variation of the 2012 Appropriation. The initial contribution to the debate was made by the Leader of the Opposition, followed by contributions by the Minister of Sport, the Member for Diego Martin North/East and the Minister of the People and Social Development. The Minister of Finance then rose to conclude the debate. The Motion was approved.
The Minister of Finance moved the second reading of The Finance (Supplementation and Variation of Appropriation) (Financial Year 2011) Bill, 2012. The Bill was then read a third time and passed.
