The Vice-President granted leave of absence to Sen. the Hon. Jerry Narace and Sen. Prof. Ramesh Deosaran. Mr. Foster Cummings and Mr. Nicholas Galt were appointed to replace Sen. Narace and Sen. Deosaran respectively during their absence from Trinidad and Tobago.
The Minister of Trade and Industry and Minister in the Ministry of Finance laid three Papers. See the Supplemental Order Paper for details.
The Minister of Agriculture, Land and Marine Resource presented the First Report of the Joint Select Committee on the Data Protection Bill, 1 2009 and the Electronic Transactions Bill, 2009.

Debate continued (from May 12, 2009) on the Integrity in Public Life (Amendment) Bill, 2009 with Sen. Dana Seetahal, SC, being the first to contribute, followed by Sen. Lyndira Oudit and Sen. Subhas Ramkhelawan. In all some six Senators made contributions before debate was suspended.
