The President granted leave of absence to Sen. Pennelope Beckles-Robinson. Mr. Daniel Dookie was appointed to temporarily replace Sen. Beckles-Robinson during her absence.
Debate resumed (from November 2, 2010) on a motion in the name of the Minister of Food Production, Land and Marine Affairs to compulsorily acquire lands for a public purpose. Sen. Fitzgerald Hinds resumed his contribution, followed by Sen. Basharat Ali, Sen. Dr. Rolph Balgobin and Sen. Embau Moheni. The Minister then rose to conclude the debate. The Motion was approved.
The Minister of Energy and Energy Affairs moved the second reading of the Petrotrin Pensions (No.2) Bill, 2010. Sen. Dr. Lester Henry was first to enter the debate, followed by Sen. Basharat Ali, Sen. David Abdulah and Sen. Subhas Ramkhelawan. Debate on the Bill was then suspended.
At its next sitting, debate is expected to conclude on the Petrotrin Pensions (No.2) Bill, 2010 and, time permitting, debate is expected to begin on the Firearms (Amendment) Bill, 2010. The sitting adjourned at 7:37 p.m.
