Hon. Fitzgerald Hinds, MP, made a statement on behalf of the Cabinet, on the rights of citizens to the enjoyment of property and on the amendments being proposed in the Trespass (Amendment) Bill, 2019.
Hon. Dr. Keith Rowley, MP, made a statement on the account of the procurement of two passenger fast ferries from Australian ship builders, Incat Australia Pty Ltd and Austal Ltd and two patrol boats from Austal Limited for the Coast Guard.
The Trespass (Amendment) Bill, 2019 will be introduced in the name of the Minister in the Ministry of the Attorney General and Legal Affairs.
The Leader of Government Business moved a motion that an extension of be granted to the JSC on the Trinidad and Tobago Revenue Authority Bill, 2018 in order to complete its work and submit a final Report by February 28, 2019. The motion was approved.
She further moved that 5 month extensions be granted to the JSC on the Cybercrime Bill, 2017 and the JSC on the Gambling (Gaming and Betting) Control Bill, 2016 in order for the Committees to complete its work and submit final Reports by May 31, 2019. These motions were also approved.
The Attorney General moved the second reading of the Administration of Justice (Indictable Proceedings) (Amendment) Bill, 2018. Debate began on the Bill. Following the debate, the Bill was referred to the Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. The Bill was read a third time and passed, with amendments.
The Attorney General moved a motion to approve the Statement of Her Excellency the President pursuant to section 4(4) of the Economic Sanctions Act, Chap 81:05, setting out the specific grounds on which
the decision to make the Economic Sanctions (Implementation of United Nations Resolutions
on the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) Order, 2018 was based. Debate began on the motion. The motion was approved.
The Attorney General also moved the motion to approve the Statement of Her Excellency the President pursuant to section 4(4) of the Economic Sanctions Act, Chap 81:05, setting out the specific grounds on which the decision to make the Economic Sanctions (Implementation of United Nations Resolution on The Islamic Republic of Iran) Order, 2018 was based. Debate began on the motion. The motion was approved.
