The President granted leave of absence to Sen. the Hon. Embau Moheni, Sen. Nicole Dyer-Griffith, Sen. Terrence Deyalsingh, Sen. the Hon. Vasant Bharath, and Sen. Basharat Ali. Archbishop Barbara Burke, Mr. Arnold Ram, Mrs. Sherrie Ali and Mr. Rabindra Moonan were appointed to temporarily replace Sen. Moheni, Sen. Dyer-Griffith, Sen. Deyalsingh and Sen. Bharath respectively during their absence.

The Trinidad and Tobago Postal Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2012 was introduced in the name of the Minister of Public Utilities.
The Minister of Public Utilities and Leader of Government Business in the Senate moved to withdraw the Municipal Corporations (Pensions)(Amendment)(No.2) Bill, 2011 which was introduced on June 27, 2011. This was approved.
Debate continued on a Motion by Sen. Fitzgerald Hinds which asks the Senate to take note of the strengths and deficiencies of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service and its impact and potential in the fight against crime. Independent Senator Dr. James Armstrong continued his contribution which was in progress when the Senate adjourned on Tuesday November 22, 2011. The Attorney General, Opposition Senator Faris Al-Rawi, Independent Senator Subhas Ramkhelawan, Temporary Opposition Senator Sherrie Ali and Senator Lyndira Oudit, Vice-President of the Senate followed with their contributions toward the debate. Ten Senators made contributions before debate was suspended.
The Senate adjourned to Tuesday February 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at which time debate is expected to continue on the Administration of Justice (Deoxyribonucleic Acid) Bill, 2011. The sitting ended at 9:05 p.m.
