The President granted leave of absence to Sen. the Hon. Anand Ramlogan who is out of the country. Mr. Shane Mohammed was sworn-in as a Temporary Senator. Ms. Lynette Abraham , Mrs. Parvatee Anmolsingh-Mahabir and SenatorTerrence Deyalsingh continue to serve as temporary Senators at today’s sitting.
The Senate paid tribute in memory of the late Dr. Emru Millette. He served as a Senator from 1981 – 1986.
The Senate paid tribute in memory of the late Hon. David Thompson Prime Minster of Barbados.

Senator Al-Rawi gave an explanation on a report presented in the Senate on Tuesday 12 October 2010 containing his name as the signatory.
The Committee Stage on the Bill entitled The Evidence(Amendment)(No.2) Bill, 2010which was in progress when the Senate adjourned on Tuesday October 19, 2010 was resumed. The bill was then read a third time and passed with amendments. At the final vote 28 members voted in favour of the bill with none against and no abstentions.
Debate resumed (from October 12, 2010) on a Private Motion by Sen. Subhas Ramkhelawan which asks the Parliament to take steps to evaluate and maximize its efficiency and effectiveness. Sen. Helen Dratyon spoke first in today’s debate.
