The Minister of Finance, Hon. Colm Imbert, MP, moved the second reading of The Base Erosion and Profit-Shifting Inclusive Framework (Country-by-Country) Reporting Bill, 2023. Five members contributed to the debate before the wind up by the Minister of Finance. The bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. No amendments were made. The bill was read a third time and passed.
The Attorney General, Sen. the Hon. Reginald Armour, S.C., moved the second reading of The Miscellaneous Provisions (Registrar General, Companies, Registration of Business Names, and Non-Profit Organisations) Bill, 2023. Mr. Arnold Ram, MP for Caroni Central, raised a matter on the adjournment namely the need for the Government to introduce legislation to amend Section 17 of the Constitution of Trinidad and Tobago and the citizenship of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago Act with a view to facilitating third generation citizenship which may benefit potential players to the National Football Team for World Cup Qualifiers in 2024. The AttorneyGeneral, Sen. the Hon. Reginald Armour, S.C. responded.
