The President granted leave of absence to Sen. the Hon. Arnold Piggott. Mr. Foster Cummings was temporarily appointed to replace Sen. Piggott during his absence from Trinidad and Tobago.

The Minister of Science Technology and Tertiary Education made a statement on the vision and mission of the National Academy for the Performing Arts, specifically on the establishment of a College of Music and a National Youth Music Education Service (NYMES).
The Minister of Works and Transport moved the second reading of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill, 2010. Sen. Surujrattan Rambachan was first to contribute to the debate. During his contribution, the President granted leave for a Statement to be made.
The Attorney General made a Statement on the laying of the Report of the Commission of Enquiry into the construction sector.
Following the Attorney General’s statement, Sen. Rambachan resumed his contribution. He was followed by Sen. Prof. Ramesh Deosaran, Sen. Wade Mark and Sen. Dana Seetahal, SC. A total of eight Senators made interventions before the Minister of Works and Transport rose to conclude. The Bill was then considered in Committee and passed without amendment. It was then read a third time and passed.
At the next sitting, the Senate is expected to consider the Trinidad and Tobago Revenue Authority Bill, 2010. The sitting adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
