Mr. Tahir Kassim Ali served as the Member for Couva during the 3rd Independent Parliament (1971-1976). He also served as a Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Public Utilities.

Mr. Ali passed away on June 27, 2001. Tribute was paid to him in the Senate on Tuesday July 3, 2001.
